Review on Optimized Morris 21899 Service Entrance Insulator by Ken Coste

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Strong enough insulator

I used this insulator to secure a drop across my street with four PV panel #10 copper output wires and a #6 ground wire, all supported by an aluminum braid will. Cable attached to an insulator. The distance traveled was 46 feet. It has survived two hurricanes without incident, so I think the isolator has served admirably, although I understand some reviewers' concerns that it doesn't look strong enough. Winds from a hurricane snapped a water oak tree about 26 inches in diameter, and the tree was only 50 feet from the wires supported by the insulator.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Cable shorter than others
