Met all my expectations - worth the higher price

The battery pack was unusually well packaged. It was housed in an anti-static bag and placed between two foam pads in a hard box mailed in a lined postal bag. Such high quality packaging is not typical for batteries. In the box was a folder with instructions on how to charge the battery. The instructions are slightly different than what you get with other batteries, so it's a good idea to read and follow them. The battery fitted my laptop perfectly and according to the instructions I started the computer until the charge dropped to 7%. And then I charged it for 12 hours according to the instructions with the computer off. And I repeated this process a second time according to the instructions. The battery works great and the computer runs for over three hours. I installed an old hard drive that required many software updates that kept the computer running at high performance. The battery was first used during this update and took over three hours to charge. With a remaining charge of 7%, I connected the charging cable. The battery then charged while I continued to update the software. This battery has fully met my expectations and I can recommend it. It's more expensive than the rest of Revain's range, but has more capacity and is definitely better quality than the OEM battery. Definitely worth the higher price! Update 09/16/14: The battery still works as expected. However, I noticed that the Toshiba OEM charger runs significantly warmer than with the old OEM battery. This may be due to the higher capacity of this battery. This probably isn't a problem, but the charger does get warm enough that you need to make sure it's exposed to the air, ie don't cover it with anything. I doubt there is a fire hazard, but it could shorten the life of the charger.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
