Heat is the enemy of electronics. I had a habit of proactively using fans and cooling pads when my old 17-inch Dell laptop was struggling due to overheating. Add to that a modem that's uncomfortably hot to the touch and a Roku flash drive that shuts down without the fan blowing. By default, I install every device, including routers and VOIP devices, on one. This is the first fan stand specially designed for small devices. I have been a fan of Cooler Master products since using the Cosmos case for my first custom PC over a decade ago. This case still serves well and I'm typing this on one of their mechanical keyboards (the best keyboard in my experience). I find this Note Pal stand to be solidly built, although calling it a "hybrid" is ridiculous. Marketing hype when, like everything else, it's really all about metal and plastic. The height provides enough clearance for a single fan to generate more than enough airflow. My device is almost silent in operation. The size is adequate but not too big for my Asus Nighthawk router. Overall I think this is a well designed and efficient cooling pad that works well for smaller connected devices.
