Works as a USB 2 hub

Got this, plugged it in and it seems to be working but the speed wasn't what I expected. I looked at the system report on my Mac and it turned out to be a USB 2 hub. I double checked by plugging the new hard drive directly into the same USB port on my computer and the HD showed up as a USB 3 hard drive. as it should. I reconnected the hard drive to the hub and the hub to the same port on my computer and it showed up again as a USB 2 and USB 2 HD hub. I will send it back and try another brand.
