I used over-ear headphones for many years and then started using over-ear headphones. But they kept shorting out, either because I was sweating in my ears or because the cable connection on the earphone kept coming loose. After going through 3 of these in about 1 1/2 years I decided to get the ones you put in your ear. I was afraid they would fall out while running, but so far that hasn't happened. I have to lay the cable that goes to the iPod in front of me because if I run it down my back it can pull the earpiece out of one ear. Sweat doesn't seem to get into my ears and plug my ear. Bud, like the ones hanging on your ear. Since they fit well in my ear, I can also turn the volume down a lot. The sponge that fits over the earcup does a good job of isolating outside noise and also helps keep it in the ear. I've been using running headphones for 15 years and they seem to be the best running headphones yet. It was. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because I've only had them for a few months. If they last a year I would give them 5 stars.
