Review on 🔋 Wii Charge Station by Nyko by Justin Quinones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Convenient disposable alternative to rechargeable batteries.

Wii controllers use tons of battery power, period. Keeping buying new batteries is wasteful and expensive, so you have a few alternatives: get rechargeable AA batteries or this device, the Nyko Wii Charging Station. Of course, rechargeable batteries are much more versatile as you can use them in any device that requires AA. The charging station batteries are used ONLY with Wii controllers, so they are disposable and not always a good investment. unless you use the Wii a lot like me. Why? Well, all you have to do is insert the battery into the Wiimote (there are two too!), attach the new backplate to the included controller, load the entire Wiimote into the charging bay, and after a few hours, voila, Your controller is fully charged and ready to use. Play for as long as you like (much longer than you could get even with fresh new AAs) and when you're done simply plug it back into your charger. Wait for the blue indicator on the base to turn green and you're ready for new games. If you had rechargeable AA batteries you would have to take them out and put them in your own charger each time and then put them back into the Wiimote. Not required for the Wii Docking Station. (Note: both options basically require you to remove the pesky Wii Jacket from the controller to facilitate charging. Not a huge loss in my opinion, but keep that in mind, just in case.) Then why four stars instead of five? One reason: the already mentioned new backplate, which is required for use with the battery of the charging station. To use the battery pack, you have no choice but to replace the back panel of your Wiimote's original battery box with the one that comes with this charger. and it's not great. Sure, it has smooth rubber tabs that make it easier to grab without the Wii Jacket, but the main problem is that it doesn't snap 100% perfectly. Sure, it's probably 90% as secure as the original battery slot, but you can sometimes feel it shifting, which is very, very annoying on more time-consuming Wii games (though for the laid-back RPGs like me, that is). no problem hehe). Although I can't end this paragraph without mentioning one more thing about the new backplate: it's ugly. Gray with green stripes. And also on my new sleek black Wii controller. a shame. If you can take a little security sting thanks to the new, unassumingly designed back of your controller, here's a fantastic deal. Two rechargeable Wiimote battery packs, a sleek, easy-to-use charging dock, and the peace of mind that you won't be messing up the floor with disposable batteries, and won't have to keep opening and closing the controllers to insert rechargeable AA batteries. Fast, easy, painless. As it should be in life.
