The skirt was exactly what I expected. As other reviews have said, this is a thick, slightly stiff, durable cotton fabric with a very cute print. Please note that you need to iron it to get the creases right. Use a tape measure to determine your size! I'm 5'5"- 5'6" and about 122 pounds (and all short legged torsos) and I ordered a large when I measured where I wanted the skirt to fall (just above my belly button ) and where I wanted it to the end (around the knee area) both standing and sitting as a fitted skirt feels COMPLETELY DIFFERENT when you're eating a large meal at your table. So yes, it doesn't stick to the skin, but I can stand up and change positions very comfortably without worrying about the band cutting or digging EVEN when I'm bloated.
