For some reason it is difficult to find night lights with a switch, usually they are always on in the dark or by a motion sensor. Our main bathroom is connected to our bedroom and when one person wants to use the vanity while the other is sleeping it is very bright. Thus this light gives us the opportunity to use this area without disturbing the sleeping person. I put it on a 3ft extender and command strip so it can glow downwards :) And it's nice not having to worry about changing batteries. By the way, when you plug it into an outlet, there is ENOUGH space for another outlet. .
