They're reasonably priced so I use more bags than I used to and don't regret wasting them. For example. I have a hamburger press and when I bought 5 pound packs of ground beef I would press the ground beef into circles, line them on silicone sheets and freeze them. Now I bag a quarter pound of beef, press them straight into the bags, leave them in the bags and freeze them. My daughter had to get used to the fact that the bags don't have a hinged lid for school sandwiches. Update: Such a big box, I recently bought a second box after 3 years. More like that. I still use them primarily when buying large packs of meat or poultry, as well as for single portioning and freezing. I also toss in any leftover spaghetti or rice if I overcook, rather than letting the pasta or rice dry in a bowl in the fridge.
