Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Yellow Jacket 69044 Vacuum Gauge: Accurate Measurement from 0-30" Hg/760-0 Torr, 3 1/8" Diameter by Suhas Carney

Great for dial gauge.

Yellow Case 69044 Vacuum Gauge The Hg (inches of mercury) scale on this gauge ranges from 0 inHg (atmospheric pressure) to approximately 30 inHg. That's 30 inches of mercury. Note that 29.92 inches of mercury is an ideal vacuum, but this is unattainable on Earth. ) says the only way to accurately measure vacuum is to use a digital pressure gauge like the SuperEvac Yellow Jacket 69075 full-range LCD vacuum gauge in a case, but that's probably overkill for the DIYer. I used this gauge when installing a Pioneer mini vacuum. The digital pressure gauge can accurately read the YJ System's recommended vacuum of 29.882 inHg. But dial gauges cost a lot less. My gauge, at maximum vacuum using a YJ Bullet vacuum pump, moved the needle within a hairline of the 30" Hg endpoint. This "dot" is about 1/8" wide. , another indication of the inaccuracy of dial gauges. Thus, the gauge gives reassurance that the pump is working properly, but is most useful for spotting leaks. My gauge needle stayed in place for two hours after the deep vacuum, suggesting that there are no leaks from the system and the gauge itself, if the needle moved, it would indicate a leak or more, customer pictures show a small crack after the YJ -pump has drawn a vacuum - the gauge starts at zero (no vacuum) but the photos show a maximum reading of 30 inches Hg. My gauge has a red rubber YJ 3 -1/8" cap to protect against bumps. Five stars means I'm happy with this product - it's a solid watch face. Ie good quality, pointer at rest is zero and deep vacuum equals 30 inHg HVAC techs, get a yellow jacket digital sensor.
