This is one of those totally unnecessary trim parts that make the bike look taller. You don't need them, but they look good when worn. These plugs are easy to install, mount VERY flush with your bars and give the ends a flat, sharp, square look. To me it looks clean and modern. It removes the softer rounded edges that traditional end caps offer. It won't work on an 80's or 70's restoration or maybe some touring or gravel bikes. In color, red is bright, yellow can look orange next to orange band (see my photo), black is semi-gloss, somewhere between glossy and matte. And blue - electric - very bright. The only drawback: the labeling is a bit poor. You can't just scrape it off. I used a red marker to soften the red cork a bit.
