Its main purpose is to attach to pipes, which is not very difficult, and in fact the clamp attaches to pipes. (To be honest, also attach with cloves). However, the secondary purpose is to provide a mount for mounting your accessories (lanterns). They are not liable, I found out when one of the lights fell off my truck (scratched it) and the other went out after <100 miles. Since they are built into my design, I coated the bracket with epoxy and made it durable. This makes maintenance of the devices difficult. So looks cool, but on the other hand, the country of origin matters if the hardware has to work. My advice is try something else.
