Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for this item because I was so disappointed before. But so far it has turned out to be a really good buy. I was concerned it wouldn't hold my phone securely, but the sides have a slight inward curve that holds the phone. The mechanism grips the sides to keep the phone from falling out, and the bottom brackets are long enough (and slightly curved up) to prevent the phone from sliding off. At first I was a little frustrated with how slowly the pages open when the shutter button is pressed, but I soon found that everything was fine. I expected them to pop open, but they gently separate from each other, making it easy to remove the phone. Assembly was a little awkward as you have to put your fingers behind the bracket to turn the locking bolt when it's attached to the bar. And it's only recently been acting like the joint is loose, but it hasn't fallen apart or fallen apart. As long as I'm happy I will probably buy more for another car.
