Review on Ahannie Toddler Little Closed Toe Sandals: Colorful Boys' Shoes for Outdoor Fun by Jeff Driscoll

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works perfectly in the last month or 2 warm weather

My son now has size 6 shoes and they fit his foot. He has outgrown his summer sandals which he used to play in in the garden (he plays in the hose a lot) but we only have a month left for water play and I wanted something cheap as we won't be in it that long. I didn't want to buy an adult size because after winter I don't know if our warm spring weather will come when he's still a size 6 or 7.5 as it's in the midwest and he's a toddler and his appetite just doubled last month, and growth spurts can be unpredictable (he was in both the 20th and 80th percentile by weight for 6 months). As he walks in wet shoes I also like that his water boots fit perfectly so they are as secure as possible which is another reason why I am concerned about that fit. Other inexpensive sandals I've bought from Revain were sold as 18-24 months and labeled a size 6 but were actually too small for my 19 month old son. They may be a little smaller than the size 6 Converse shoes he wears, but they still fit. These shoes run about medium light. His feet behave like a high arch when he puts on shoes because he bends his toes. I have to unbuckle the strap completely and then it takes about 15 seconds to work on my feet. If your child doesn't have any trouble with the process, then it's fine. If your child doesn't get the chills when trying to put shoes on, this may not be easy enough for you. Once they were on my son's feet his false high arch was gone and they fit perfectly. There is no strong pressure on the instep at all. There is no chafing on the back of the foot. They are wide enough. No pressure on the toes. So far his pinky toe hasn't popped out of the side although I haven't seen these shoes when he walked up our hill so it might be but the material is soft enough not to cause injury. They're easy to clean and dry quickly, which is nice because we walk back and forth all day and some kids probably have trouble putting wet shoes back on. 15 minutes in the sun and the sole is dry and the neoprene only slightly damp. The bottom profile is amazingly grippy! The grip is much better than the Converse. I hope this helps someone else with their stressful online shopping for toddler shoes. 😆
