I pride myself on being able to do things myself. I followed the instructions and here are the results: First try: Water leaked from the junction of the tube with the plastic ring. Attempts two to five: followed the instructions and inserted an additional plastic disk - result: when the water was turned on, it threw off all the fittings. I couldn't tighten it enough that it wasn't a problem. Last try: I removed the black plastic washer, tightened the plastic ring and while there were no leaks, I noticed the cap had snapped out of the tube on previous attempts. broke the cheap plastic tab on the shower head that allowed you to change jet settings. I can still change the setting by turning the shower head dial, but it's a little tricky to do this in the shower when water is splashing all over you. When you turn off the water from this jet, you won't know what setting you'll get unless you memorize the rotation of the massage jet. For the price and after removing the water restrictor this is a decent shower fixture. I would have preferred at least some of the parts to be metal, but the entire assembly is plastic and I'm afraid I'll have to replace it again within the next year or so. The time will show.
