An Inexpensive Fix for a Bad Touch Screen Toyota

For those who don't mind removing the radio from the dash, this is the best fix for the dead bottom half of the Toyota touch screen. Check your radio number (mine was 100201 on the front) to make sure you are looking at the correct screen. There are several videos on YouTube showing you how to do the repair, but they may differ from your device. It is not necessary to remove the center console, as some videos show, a small bolt in the fenders next to the coupe door is sufficient. After removing the top plastic cover, you can remove the fan assembly and access the radio fasteners. When unplugging all the connectors, be careful not to damage anything. They only come back in one direction, so you can't mix them up when reassembling. Remove the front panel of the radio by loosening the screws and prying off the front panel. Be careful when loosening the clips on the ribbon cable connectors, be sure to push them in fully and straight before inserting the clip to secure them. It's about 2 hours of work from start to finish, but it's better than paying big bucks for a Toyota or installing an aftermarket radio.
