Sturdy, solid, and easy to put together - plus it looks nice
I just wanted a nice, cheap, sturdy shoe rack that can be used to hold heavier objects if necessary. This fits the bill - easy to put together, pre-drilled holes in the wood, good quality metal that won't fall apart. Holds shoes just fine and if you wanted to use it to store heavier objects - I'm using it to hold books and junk under my desk - it can handle it.
