Review on ⏰ Sony ICFC705 AM/FM Clock Radio (White) - Limited Availability, Buy Now! by Jon Hill

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A few problems; great attention to detail

My short list: Advantages: - Two alarm clocks have separate dedicated displays below the main clock display. Each display has its own on/off button. When you see the alarm time in the small window, you know for sure that the alarm has been set. Time not specified? No alarm clock. - AM/PM is clearly displayed on all three time displays. No more guessing if that dot means AM and no dot means PM, or if AM = AM and blank = PM like many previous clock radios I've had. No, this clearly displays "AM" or "PM" which completely takes the guesswork out of setting or checking the alarm. - The front speaker isn't the best for filling a room with music, but it's great for precise volume control when listening in bed. - Easy time setting Hour then >Enter then Minutes then >Enter ie no need to hold the 'set' button while pressing the second button to increase the time and no need Slowly toggling between all 24-hour clocks when installing the afternoon. Alarm clock. Really very quick and efficient - many thanks. - Finally! Sony with backup battery. Over the years, Sony has sold MANY models of clock radios that didn't have a backup battery in case of a power outage. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Fortunately, automatic daylight saving time can be disabled and changed manually. - The DST/ST button is in the middle of a 10 button array and only needs a quick random press to lose or gain an hour (in manual mode - no problem in automatic mode). If you're not careful, you'll either wake up an hour early or an hour late. This is the biggest oversight of this device. - LOTS of buttons to remember and fiddle with in the dark. A big, huge sleep button, but the other 14 at the top of the device are low-profile, soft-touch, closely spaced, island-sized buttons. The 5 tuner presets are easy to remember, but then there's Nap, Sleep, Brightness, DST, 'Enter', On, Time Advance, Time Reverse, Band/MP3, etc. So you'll have to learn a bit. this layout and get it in your head when you want to skillfully set the alarm or control the radio in the dark.
