Essentially, I wanted a ball head that was much more reliable and functional than small (and cheap) lightweight ball heads. I bought two of these U-80L ball heads to use on my small tabletop tripods and also to attach accessories to super clamp mounts. This ball head is on the low end of medium duty. It doesn't have the durability of heavy-duty ball heads (for heavier objects). However, this article is well made for what I want. What to pay attention to: 1) The plate is quite small, but sufficient for small items. 2) The grips on the U80L are plastic but should work just fine. 3) The more expensive Ulanzi U-70 is all metal but only slightly larger in ball size than the U-80L (I would consider the U-80 small for a ball head but average in capacity). The U-70 also has a small plate, albeit slightly larger than that of the U-80L.
