Almost caught fire.

When the inverter was turned on with no load, sparks and smoke came from inside. Thought it was just a fuse. After removing the cover to replace the fuses, I found a burned spot on the inside of the cover as well as on the bottom of the unit closer to the center rather than next to the fuses. It was bought for me as a gift so I was really hoping it would work. I got a 1500 watt device. It will be returned and we hope the donor will receive a full refund.
