Review on Barton Alligator Grain Release Leather Men's Watches by Lisa Ellis

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I was looking for a replacement strap from Philip Stein

So my watch has a quick reset button which makes it easy to change the strap. This was the Type 2 PS series. This Barton strap fits my watch but there are some major differences in width and material. Shown at left is a PS alligator strap. It cost over $200 and lasted about 1.5 years. The middle image shows Barton's new "Quick Release" watch strap handle. As you can see in the picture, the area around the "Quick Release" handle already looks worn. Or maybe the material wasn't cut correctly? The image at right shows Barton's design in "premium leather" that mimics alligator skin. Due to the shortened design of the PS strap, its width is actually about 20mm. The width of the Barton bracelet is approximately 15mm which makes it look more like a women's bracelet. (not unisex). The Barton strap doesn't look as good or as wide as the PS. But if you're just looking for something to match your watch and at a good price, then this bracelet is for you. Keep in mind that this is not full skin (top skin). Maybe I'll update in a few months how it holds up.
