I have tried many products for red, angry, dry skin on my hands. This is the only product that turns red into a beautiful, calm pink. It pierces bleeding areas that were scratched badly before application because my skin is very itchy. The burning passes fairly quickly, then a pink color appears in those places where the skin was open and irritated. You'll have to reapply after washing your hands, but it's worth it. There is a pleasant light honey smell that is barely perceptible. You have to have your skin very close to your attention to inhale the scent. Which is nice when I'm not overwhelmed by an overly smelly product. My horse loves to lick me and kiss me when I put it on before I see it. I never thought about how it might taste. Didn't try.
