I use these to burn wood when I need to darken/burn out large areas. With feathers it takes forever and doesn't look as pretty. Put on gloves, use a metal ruler and you have the perfect firing guide. Make sure there is good ventilation, otherwise you will blacken the wood. The only downside is that it doesn't contain much butane due to its size. Otherwise it gets a 10 on my scale. Katie.
