The pipe has an odor and it took a few days

This pipe had a very strong odor immediately after opening the package. He smelled strongly for about two more days before the smell started to fade. I bought this to use on the drain line of an entire house in the basement so the smell wasn't a big deal to me but I would hate mixing it with food, beer or anything truly intended for human consumption , to use. The smell made me question the "food grade" statement. It is also a very soft and flexible hose.
