. I purchased this unit with a 4TB Samsung surveillance hard drive pre-installed. Yes I can install a HDD but for the cost I got for the HDD DVR installed I saved $25 :) I'm used to setting up port forwarding or virtual server settings on my router so that the CCTV DVR is visible outside of my home network and also has a DDNS account (you can still add your DDNS account to the Zosi DVR but you don't really need it) with that all you have to do is create a Zosi Cloud account (free) and then Add your DVR device, it has a QR code on it so it's easy to add to your account, if you have a desktop computer download the AVSS software from Zosi website and just add your newly created one Add Zosi Cloud ID and then follow the steps for instructions on how to enter information through your DVR in case you get lost, there is a YouTube video on how to fix this issue. Download the Zosi app (you can also use the QR code for this), enter your Cloud ID information and you are now connected to your DVR system. Connecting all my existing 16 cameras was no problem, the system recognized them and within 2 minutes of turning on all 16 cameras you need to make some adjustments e.g. B. masking trees or other non-essential moving objects so not many are wrong shots, this takes about 10 minutes to take all 16 cameras. You can rename all cameras and adjust color settings if you wish, and for playback you can use the dashcam's built-in interface or use the AVSS desktop software (you can playback via the smartphone app, but not as efficiently as playback with AVSS or DVR devices (yes I had to contact support via email) I had some playback issues and some other small configuration issues, Zosi support team answered all my questions and gave me solutions to all my questions, I really had to Updated my DVR firmware from 1.5.3 to 1.5.6 which solved my AVSS playback problems Overall I'm happy with this purchase For the price it's hard to get one that works as well I have 4- Bought 2 mega zosi cameras AHD 1080p from Revain for $65 (after $15 off), they will be arriving soon and I will be replacing my AHD 720p cameras with them new and installed semi-retired 720p cameras replacing my old 480p cameras. I was skeptical to buy this at first but after installing and configuring it and even working with the support team I am now happy with the purchase. and I have to admit that I love connecting to their cloud system. I've also set up my router for the ports that zosi uses and also set up my ddns account on the zosi dvr (not really required but it's there). , I am satisfied with the purchase
