Poor quality of cables and connections

Cables caused twice as much noise and interference. Shielding and quality are unacceptable. The 3.5 mm jack plug is so small that it can hardly be plugged in. XLR connectors are cheap as they are. I will make my own cables. Bought these because I needed a longer length. Should I have known better?
