My wife had surgery and I wanted to avoid the horrible 'cone' and my vet said so did works fine. It was difficult to open the plug, but I would have preferred a tight seal. You have to hold down the value just right to make it explode. At first it seemed like it was leaking as it softened overnight. I blew it a second time and this time it held up better. My girlfriend is 48lbs with a 16" neck, so I bought a size up as recommended. The velcro is very long (I'm sure it will fit a larger neck) but it kept dangling so I trimmed it down. Then he began to unravel. As long as I watch my girl everything is fine, but at night when I drive her to the cabin she can take it off. Thus, allowing them to reach the realms they envision defeats the purpose. Also, she was able to reach her leg as she was shaved and an IV was put in for her to lick that area so I had to tape it. I don't know the solution but thought my experience would help others.
