Much easier than expected.
This puzzle has the feature where the back side is printed with letters so that you can, if you wish, sort by sections before beginning. If you do that, it's more like doing 8 little 65 piece puzzles that happen to fit together - super easy! If you want this for a younger kid or someone with challenges who would like to do a bigger puzzle but needs a bit of an assist, then this is perfect. If you want a 500-piece puzzle that "feels" like a 500-piece puzzle, then DO NOT PRE-SORT the pieces when you start. I wish I hadn't done that.
