These connectors are easy to use and provide a reliable connection. I used an old crimping tool designed for old no-go connectors. This old crimping tool worked fine. I simply cut off the ends of the wires as they come out of the connector after using an old crimping tool. No problem. A new crimping tool would cost more than the connectors. In any case, I had no failures with these connections. The loop through feature makes it very easy to ensure the correct wire colors go into the correct holes/slots in the connector. I've used them with Cat 5e cables. They worked great. I had some Cat6 cables and was trying to use them with them. Not surprisingly, the OD of Cat6 cables (with insulation) is too large for these connectors. So make sure you order the correct connectors for the cables you will be using. Maybe you need two different connector sizes?
