Not what I expected. The box clearly states KEEP THE TRANSFORMATION INSIDE AT ALL TIMES. It is advertised as Indoor/Outdoor/Waterproof. I read several reviews and read the product description. I haven't seen any indication that the transformer can't be outside. Nice stars but I was planning to use them outside on the fence. Returned.** Review updated 11/16/18. After sending it back, as the packaging was misleading and gave a one star rating, the seller contacted me and assured me that the light and transformer could be outside. I received another box and tried it. The light and transformer were covered by rain and then snow. They work fine! They're not as bright as regular white bulbs (not LED), but I love them! They aren't long enough on a patio fence so I ordered a second strand to connect. So far so good, happy with them and happy with the very good customer service. 1/23/19 Changes have been made. They also rust a little.
