Review on Ultimate Field Repair Buckle: 1 Inch Plastic Buckles & Adjustable Side Release - 2pc Quick Release Buckles with Ladder Lock - 1 Inch by Christina Nelson

Amazing design but tough for Swiss Gear straps.

I have a Swiss gear backpack that I bought 2 years ago. The bag is in perfect condition despite 2 years of daily use with a 30lb load. The bag still looks like new. About a month ago I didn't notice it when I put my bag on the back seat and closed the car door. The belt buckle is caught between the door and the frame. I called Swiss Gear and they said they couldn't ship a new buckle without a receipt that I no longer have. So the options were either tossing out a perfectly good backpack with a broken buckle and getting a new $60 bag, or trying to figure out a way to fix it. This combination of buckles worked perfectly! I like that they include an extra needle. The design is very well done. I would only make 1 small design change. There is a hole in the front of the strap buckle (not the hole that the pin slides out through), a gap large enough to accommodate almost all straps, but if it were 1/2mm x 1/2mm larger, if they did, they would fit much better on the end straps of swiss backpacks. There is a plastic loop at the ends of the straps of the Swiss Gear backpack, which makes it easier to tighten the straps. Plastic rod won't come off (trust me I've tried). The gap on the replacement buckle was so narrow that it took me a lot of effort to slide the plastic strap through the small gap. I'm surprised it didn't break, and I'm surprised I even managed to get it through from the start. The new buckle will definitely never slip if I have to take it off. It must be cut off. Although the new strap buckle works great. It is tighter on the strap than the original buckle on the other side. It looks clean and feels more durable than the original. This is an extremely smart design with a detachable stylus and I'm very impressed with it. I will update this review if anything changes in the future.
