I have small dogs and everyone knows that small dogs tend to bark. Mine are no exception. I enlisted the help of a canine behaviorist and she recommended that I purchase such a device and keep it out of my dogs sight, especially if I need to use it. I take it outside when I walk my dogs and when they bark at my neighbors on the street I push the button and they stop barking to look at me. I can't hear anything other than a slight hum from the device, but I'm sure they'll stop and notice. This stops them from barking at least 80% of the time, which is a HUGE improvement. I definitely recommend trying this if you have dog friends that are hard to get to stop barking.
