It was installed less than 2 months - looks like corrosion to me - if so "rust free" - it's corrosion - see photos in an early review of this product. The packaging was very good, it came in a ziplock bag with plastic expansion anchors and screws. The threads on the yoke, as well as the length adjustment screw and lock nut, thread well, allowing me to securely tighten them to the pipe. and mounting base. The included anchors were too small for my use as I was attaching them to a concrete block wall so I replaced the Tapcon fasteners. Time will tell how well stainless steel can withstand salty air.
