Before I bought this pump I bought a similar one for about $180. This one was a lot cheaper and I wanted one that used AC power for charging or working. My other pump is connected to a car battery. A problem for me is that I often inflate my raft or water toy while it's in the trailer. So does the pump need its own power source, or do I need a cord long enough to reach the battery or cigarette lighter? This pump can be charged with AC power, after which you can take it anywhere. I tested it on SUP and it worked great on its own battery. The description says it can be used for 1 hour, which is more than enough to inflate a raft, kayak and SUP. It has + and - buttons to set the desired air pressure. The main issue I had was that none of the fittings matched my SUP valve. One of them looked like it was meant to fit but didn't stay connected. So I checked by adding air while holding the hose and everything was fine. I tried to do the same with the deflation but I couldn't get it to deflate. It seemed to feel a slight vacuum, but not enough to work without a solid connection. I give it the benefit of the doubt and just downgraded the stars to 4. Other than that, it's a powerful, beefy device that comes in a pouch that also includes a power cord and hose with various connectors.
