Not well isolated.
I would fill my one gallon pitcher very high with ice and yes it would keep it cold it wouldn't last long. I thought it would help me get through my layer of ice but it didn't. I'd say the only thing he did was keep the water at bay once the ice melted and didn't make him sweat. For isolation reasons, I don't think it is.
