Only intended for gripping - not a real thimble

The thimble protects the fingers when pressing needles. They save you from getting stuck with a needle. Neither - it ONLY improves needle grip. Even when I assembled two sticks from this set, they were very thin and the needle could easily pass through them. They are sold as thimbles, but that's not what they're designed for. They're great for grappling, but only for that, not for defense.
