Review on Morris 81993 Commercial Decorative Receptacle by Dwayne Pore

It works if you have what it takes.

Requires a neutral wire in the box in which you intend to mount this box. We needed a combo for some Christmas lights that won't turn off for months to avoid using an extension cord or crawling under a work station to plug and unplug an extension cord. Not all switch boxes have a neutral wire (white) as there are several ways to connect a light to operate it from a wall switch. First a power wire is plugged into the box with a neutral wire, the hot wire goes to the switch and the other wire goes to the light with its black wire going to the switch and two white ones are twisted together with a wire nut on top and with this example you can use this item . Second, the light is powered directly, and the wire from the light to the switch uses the white wire as a return to the light, so black and white are connected to the switch (white should be marked black). Tape), and in this example, this element cannot use the exit. If you have more than one device in the box and one of them is an outlet, this will work too. Before you buy, check what's in the box. Mine was only $4 which is a great price for an item that makes adding an outlet very easy.

Pros
  • Fits standard wall boxes
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
