I am a first time extension user. I've never had them professionally done or ever purchased any to use at home. However, after getting my hair butchered recently, I needed to try something. I currently have pretty short hair (goes to about chin level) and it's super layered.I have normal medium brown hair, that tends to lighten up in spots when I'm in the sun a lot, so I got the balayage extensions for the heck of it and they blend beautifully.I took the advice of other reviews and got two packages. I tried with just one package but it did look a bit thin. In the end, I'm using a package and a half, and I'd recommend that.The hair is clearly real and looks great. It matches my hair consistency perfectly. As some have commented, it does really thin out at the ends. I think having it professionally cut could help this, but it's also not awful. As a novice, I think this is also enhanced by the fact that you get SO much volume and weight at the scalp because of the concentration of hair AND the clips, so it makes the ends look more thin than normal. I just curled it all once it was in and it looks fine.I watched a couple of YouTube videos on tips to put in extensions with short hair and that was helpful. I got my full set of these in successfully on the second try and it takes me about 10 minutes.I was miserable with my horrible hair cut and for just over $100 I feel like I look "normal" again. These extensions look totally real, are easy to put in, and for the price I think they are super worth it. As a bonus I got a new hair style AND balayage for a pretty good deal. I see how everyone is all about extensions now and I can see myself continuing to use these even as my hair gets back to normal.
