Inexpensive. I already knew there would be plastic when I bought it but still wish there was a chrome/metal version charged accordingly because I would have bought it. I've seen other versions of melting clocks with metal parts and quartz, but this design wins for me. After a few weeks the time is still within a minute (no second hand) and works perfectly. Easily hangs from multiple surfaces with no glue or weight required. Note that it makes a classic ticking sound every second in case you're easily annoyed. Does my wife bother me? Not as much. It goes without saying that he resides in a room outside of the bedroom! It's good as a gift if you don't mind that it's more of a joke/feel like those found in the Spencer Gifts or Hot Topic aisles. .if they're even still around. Again, it's worth it for just $10. As a plus for those busy with numerous zoom/video calls during the 2020 pandemic, this is a fun background element that doesn't look plasticky from a blurry distance!
