With the right gaskets (square rubber rings) this valve seals and works great. I had to go through my inventory to find another square ring, PLUS I had to grind the end of (my) chrome pipe to remove burrs. The problem with this is that US shower heads are designed for 1/2" NPT (pipe thread). The thread pitch of this diverter is the same, but it doesn't seal with threaded tape (used for NPT) since NPT is tapered. Beyond that, that takes care of it same NPT no around burrs at the end of the tube.But the valve action is light, smooth, the finish is great, AND I can get both the shower head and handpiece to flow together if you insert the valve between the two extremes. My lady just loves the flow and variety that both heads give us now!
