Before purchasing this roof rack I looked at several motorcycle racks and read many reviews. However, when I finally decided to buy a trunk, I didn't realize I was buying one that did NOT have headlights. Considering that in the picture you can see headlights and in fact lenses on the trunk (and after removing you can see the bracket / plastic mold to attach the lamp). But unfortunately there is no light. I'm currently looking for headlights to fit into the brackets that come with it, but haven't had much success so far. It only costs $2 more to get the same lighted trunk, so I'd buy it if I was careful. Seems to be my fault but at the same time - it would be nice if the description clearly stated that it has NO headlights. In addition, everything is fine with the trunk. When I put my backpack in and need to compress it, it misses the shape of the trunk and makes the latch difficult to close and latch properly. The bolt is good and bad. This is good because of the snoring effect. You turn the lock, lift the floor outwards and up, and the lid tends to fall backwards or to the side, and you can open the trunk. To close the trunk, lift the bottom up and out and hook the top part on the comb and push down the bottom part of the lever (with the key). However, the top isn't visible, and it's hard to tell if the top is hooked or not. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to snap it into place with a backpack. Without a backpack, it easily closes and snaps into place. My KLR 650 has a sturdy plastic stand so I had to drill holes. I moved the trunk to the back so I can still access the tools in the front of the trunk and give my passenger a little more room. The bracket just fits between the mounting screws for my KLR rack. I wanted to be able to remove it without removing the trunk mount. I hit the bracket with a hammer to give a little more room for the nuts - not much. During my first 30 mile ride the bolts loosened a lot. I used bungee cord to tie it to the post to make sure it didn't come off completely. I used the locking nuts that came with the rack but they were still dangling. When I got home I took another set of Lowes locknuts and put them on behind the first ones. So far that seems to be true. KLR has a strong vibration. I like that the trunk is easy to remove. The saddlebags I had many years ago were installed directly. It's not as tall as I expected but it's wide and I'm not disappointed with the purchase. If it breaks I'll probably look for another one, maybe a little taller and with a lighter locking mechanism.
