I know a little bit about auto electrics, but this amazed me. I've been trying to adjust the fan speed in my 2002 Highlander for about 3 months and I'm hearing a 'click' sound behind the driver's side dash for every position I've shifted to. I thought it was a relay or something. I even replaced the climate control unit, unfortunately without success. I googled and found that the "fan resistor" might be preventing the fan from turning on, but during diagnostics I checked the connector that pulls out of the fan and there was power. If the fan gets power but won't turn on, they say it's the fan. I disabled the fan resistor (which is in the firewall) and it was fine. Fan ordered, replaced and problem solved! No clicking noise, fan runs great!
