I did not get these to wear without shoes to walk around the house.But if I did, I would send them back.Look at the photo.See the treads?These are raised hard pieces of plastic.It is like walking on hard beans, or beads or little sticks, or something made to torture.Why? The hospital sock treads are not 3d. These treads are big and hard.Otherwise these fluffy socks are perfect.I got these to sleep in,They fit my big cold feet.They are not tight. I hate elastic on my legs and ankles. My legs swell and even if they aren't swelling in the moment, elastic makes me feel it.They are soft.They don't come off.The colors are cheerful.I do have non-diabetic peripheral neuropathy from my screwed together fused spine. It is very odd. I feel as if I always have tight socks on, and my feet and legs are numb-ish on the surface, wooden feet. But my feet really hurt from slight stubs and bumps. At night my toes feel like they are in a vice.Do you think that is why these hard sock treads feel like rocks?I don't know. I don't think so. They are not so bad in shoes.Please, before you give these to some poor old lady who can't express herself, try them on to see how these bumpy treads feel.
