Review on Bridgestone Blizzak VRX 195/55 R16 87S winter by Kiril Tilkov ᠌

I did not find the advantages of the product, I do not recommend it.

195/65 R15 91S. They stand on Opel Astra H hatchback, mechanic's box, ABS, without traction control. Passed on the asphalt running 2500 km. I will tell you that during the first real test of frost with ice under snow, I was disappointed in rubber. I felt like a cow on ice and that was at 40-50 km/h on a road with 7-8 cm of snow and ice underneath. What kind of stability is there when rebuilding and overcoming snow surges. I tried not to go into a skid, just to keep the car in its rut. Yes, it’s going fine on a flat, rolling road, but simply in the courtyard of high-rise buildings, having run into a layer of about 12-15 cm and stopping to let the car through, I couldn’t leave. And this is a vaunted bridgestone. I was just in shock. Before that, I had a dozen and bought a new Goodyear UltraGrip 7 Velcro, Polish, not even German, with a herringbone tread pattern, but there was never such a design, the car could only skid during sharp turns, and this bridge generally seems only for cleared snowy roads and without a crust of ice under the snow. While there was asphalt, handling was good even at minus, but without ice. It floats a little during hard braking, but you get used to it and don't pay attention. In terms of comfort, noise and quality of the material, of course, there are no complaints. I think it takes a long time. I was seduced by the brand and the novelty of the model, but now it’s scary to think what will happen on the highway at a speed of 100-110 km / h. I won’t buy it for the second time, it didn’t justify itself and its high-profile title, it’s absolutely useless for icing and snow rolls.

Pros
  • Quality, comfort, silence
Cons
  • Slightly floats on the pavement under heavy braking. Uncertainly holds the road on the ice. The ABS often kicks in on icy roads. Weak lateral stability.
