I have the 2.5 x 29 and mounted it on the front wheel of a single speed hardtail. It was easy to install without much hassle. I immediately noticed that this is a heavy tyre. This is a compromise between protection and tear resistance. I ride in the southwestern desert - from dry hardpack to loose dirt/rocks (nothing wet/dirty). This is the widest tire I have ever ridden. Front. That and the side lugs ensure really good traction in corners. This is a great tire if you need grip and stability and can live with the extra weight.
