Review on Smart speaker VK Capsule mini, marine blue by Mateusz Dbkowski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

For a long time I was tempted by the idea of buying a "smart speaker" - I really liked the idea that such a unique device exists. As it turned out, not everything is as cool as they draw in advertising and reviews. Firstly, there can be no question of any "mind" in the column. Of course, a full-fledged AI like in science fiction was not expected from it - but the column, in fact, is just a reader for search queries (while the very first result is voiced, even if it is not in the topic). Marusya can perform the simplest tasks - but at the same time she gets lost when trying to do something extraordinary and non-standard (Answer to "How many megabytes are in 64 gigabytes -" about 66,000", the correct answer is 65,536). Secondly, in the absence of a "smart home" (light bulbs, kettles, detectors and cameras), there is practically no sense in it - almost all of its functions are in the telephone application, and at least there you can stop her flow of information (If Marusya starts a stormy story - it is impossible to stop it even if you say "Stop" closely). FB Combo services disappointed - on the one hand, there is Vkontakte music and a discount on food delivery (insignificant), and on the other, the Wink service. And there are a lot of problems with it: firstly, the voice control function works ONLY on certain TV models - the owners of other Smarts can forget about this function. Secondly, the subscription selection leaves much to be desired - most of the tape is Soviet and Indian (!) Films and a selection of budget thrillers and horror films. Almost all novelties and interesting series - for a fee. Compared to Kinopoisk, it's very poor. Of the pluses - a cozy sound, it was nice to listen to your favorite songs on this speaker - yes, audiophiles will most likely turn up their noses or stand with frequency measurement equipment to say where it fell short, but for a domestic user it will do. As a result - a toy for one evening. I will issue a refund, I was touched only by the answer to the words "Farewell, Marusya": "Farewell and remember that I loved you."

Pros
  • -Pleasant sound; -Support for FB Combo services; -Quality materials and assembly.
Cons
  • -Incorrect reactions to atypical requests (little-known musical groups, questions outside the weather and exchange rates); - Imposition of "new domestic performers" in the selections - repeatedly tried to put the modern pop stage on the requests "Energetic music" and "Music for work"; -Color - at certain angles, the column looks cheap due to the selected shade of gray; - Cannot work autonomously (only stationary placement at the outlet); -Difficult to set up when moving (you need to do a hard reset to change the Wi-Fi network); -Too robotic voice, sometimes broken speech.
