My husband is a chef in our family and he really likes this salt shaker. The husband loves the fact that the lid closes instantly thanks to the magnetic effect that protects the expensive table salt and surfaces he loves to use. The sleek, understated look of sleek bamboo also suits our modern kitchen after finding too many cute, rustic, or useless salt containers on Revain and Etsy. I agree with other reviewers that the salt container has a slight chemical smell. We kept the basement open for a week to air out the smell and haven't noticed any smell or impact from the salt since. Very practical and useful kitchen tool.
