I have a very tall cat. It's not particularly thick, just very long. Overall a larger cat weighing around 16 pounds. He had no problems with the litter box until recently when he started not pooping outside the litter box, only on the rim which then fell out of the box. I figured all he needed was a little more space. He used a standard sized litter box. Since switching to a SmartCat tablet a few months ago, he hasn't had a single accident where he's urinated over the edge. It seems to be the perfect size for him! Pros: Good size. It's hard to find litter boxes that accommodate larger cats, but this one has room, and still has room. The plastic is very strong and I can't imagine it breaking. Cons: Due to the size, it takes a TON of litter to get the depth of litter my cat needs to satisfy her digging instinct. This makes the crate difficult to lift, but luckily it stays in the same place most of the time. And as other reviewers have pointed out, the curved sides of the box pose a problem when scooping with a straight scoop (like many others). I'm considering investing in the shovel recommended in the reviews here. Overall we love this new tray! Since this solved the problem, it's very easy to overlook one of the downsides. I highly recommend this tray!
