Overall I like these shoes. I have plantar fasciitis and I really need arch and heel support. Arch support is great, but a little more ankle gel would have been nice to protect the heel. I've worn them a few times walking around town and they've really helped my feet. I typically ran 2-5 miles every day for 5 days, and on the days I ran the longest, I felt some tenderness in my heel. Small but enough to take a break. I have heel inserts that I can add to these boots, but the inserts change the feel inside and cause more friction on the toes as the inserts lift the heel and slide my feet forward in the shoe. It's not quite perfect here. Either way, it's still a good pair of hiking boots and they look great.
