I bought this because my Border Collie is prone to heat cramps. But it is very difficult to keep a Border Collie from running, playing and herding livestock. We often send him to the paddling pool after training as a precaution. I just wanted something that would help him extend his playing time and keep his cool. We won the jackpot. I just finished a tennis ball transfer session and I have to say I am very impressed with this cooling vest and collar from #CoolerDog. It didn't stop him from running and playing. We played a little more (the night is still warm) and now he's lying on the doorstep in his waistcoat and collar to cool off a bit. Glad I got this instead of the vapor vest I almost got which was more expensive and wet only than an ice pack system. It's very easy. It is essentially a waist belt and collar attached with a Velcro strap that runs from the collar to the belly across the chest. Even with small cold packs it is still very light. He didn't seem to notice, and it certainly didn't stop him from playing. 😊 I just took off the kit and the coolness came from his double neck and his whole head was cool. The vest section kept his stomach very cool. Generally happy Keely, happy Momz.
